Momindum Studio is free. You can download the software as many times as you wish, use it for how long as you want and even process standard publication free of charge. Each copy of the software comes with a 20 minutes free advanced publication so that you can really try out the full capabilities of the advanced publication by creating a 20 minutes long video presentation.
1.2. Is it necessary to create an account to download Momindum Studio?
No, you can download and use it for free without creating an account.
1.3. Is Momindum Studio available for servers/multiple workstations?
Since Momindum Studio is free, there is no need to buy a license for each workstation or bother with a server version of the software. You can use Momindum Studio for creating presentations on as many workstations as you want, and publish on a specific workstation for which you bought credit.
1.4. What is the required configurations in order to use the software?
The system requirements for Momindum Studio Standard Edition is:
- 256 Mo of RAM (512 Mo of RAM recommended).
- Processor Pentium III or equivalent (Processor superior to Pentium IV or equivalent recommended).
- Minimal resolution of 1024 * 768 pixels.
- Minimum operating system Windows XP SP1.
- Windows Media Players ( already configured at least one time)
1.5. Where can I find my Momindum Studio serial number?
In the software, click on the "help" menu, then on "serial number":

Time credit to produce advanced presentations can be purchased by packs of 5hours, 10 hours, 50 hours or 100 hours. This credit is the maximum length of video you can produce with Momindum Studio. For instance, a 10 hours pack will allow you to produce as many presentations as you want without exceeding a maximum total length of 10 hours. Should your immediate needs exceed the largest 100 hours pack, feel free to contact Momindum to discuss how to best plan your investment.
2.2. What's the difference between Standard publishing and Advanced publishing?
Standard publishing is free. It includes basic functions: synchronization of video and documents and navigation by the outline. Advanced publishing includes a customizable interface, and access to advanced functions such as keywords and related documents. Advanced publishing requires enough credit got purchased for the workstation from which you do publish.
2.3. If my video is 2 hours long, how much do I need to pay to publish in Premium publishing?
Our smallest formula is a 5 hours pack. If your presentation is shorter, you should buy the 5 hours pack, and you can use the remaining credit to publish another presentation.
2.4. Are packages long term contracts?
No, our packages are not subscriptions, just a time credit that you may use whenever you want without time limitation.
2.5. Can I combine several packages?
Yes, you can buy a 10 hours pack and a 5 hours pack for a total of 15 hours of credit.
2.6. What's the difference between the 5 hours pack and the 100 hours pack?
The difference is only the number of hours of credit.
Time credit is the maximum length of video presentations you can produce in the advanced publication mode. Standard publication has no impact on your time credit.
3.2. How do I buy or reload my time credit?
You will first be asked to have an account on momindum.com, When you log into your account, you will then be offered the ability to purchase online one of the different packs available (5 hours, 10 hours, 50 hours or 100 hours). Online payments are fully secured with Paypal. Be prepared to supply our ordering form with Momindum Studio's serial number, as we will email you an activation code for that specific work station.
3.3. Is there any time limit for using my credit?
No, your time credit is valid as long as you have some left.
3.4. Can I use my credit on any computer?
You can use your credit on one computer only. You certainly can purchase additional credit for another computer or just ask us to split the purchased credit in two different activation codes.
3.5. Can several people use the same credit?
One given time credit is allocated to only one computer. You use the credit on the same computer, but several people can use it on the same computer. However, people using Momindum Studio with not enough time credit may just transfer their project (one ".mom" file) to another person who has enough credit to publish the video presentation.
3.6. What happens if my video exceeds my current time credit?
You cannot publish in the advanced mode and you should purchase some additional time credit. Standard publication remains available for free and without any impact on your remaining time credit.
3.7. What should I do if I change my computer? Have I lost all my time credit?
Please contact us and provide us with both Momindum Studio's serial number to that we can we can transfer your time credit to the new computer.
3.8. If I have some time credit left on my computer which appears to be unusable, can I do advanced publication for someone else?
You certainly can, just ask that person to forward you his/her project (a single ".mom" file). You may also contact us to transfer your time credit to that same person.
4.1. What payment options do I have?
Payments can be done by credit card, money wire or by checks.
4.2. How long does it take to receive my credit code?
You will receive your activation code by email as soon as your payment is processed, therefore instantly when payment is made with a credit card.
4.3. Can I buy time credit offline?
You may do so by contacting us..
5.1. I cannot import my video... Why?
You may not have the proper codec installed or your video may be of a different format than the two natively supported by Momindum Studio: wmv or avi.
5.2. What media format should I use?
We advise you to use the wmv format for videos and wma for audio files.
5.3. If my video or my audio file is not in right format, what should I do?
You can use the media converter of your choice or one of the numerous freeware available online.
5.4. I imported a video file with another format. But during the publication my video does not work. Should I do everything again from the beginning?
No, you just have to convert your video to the expected format and import it during the publication. Everything you have done so far for your project is safe and still operational.
5.5. If I have published a video with another format using an advanced publication, will I be charged again time credit to publish it to the right format?
This is still the same video and you will not be charged any additional time credit. Just convert your video format and import the new video format to your project. However, if you use another video, you may then be charged for the new publication.
6.1. If I do not any PowerPoint file, can I still do a presentation? So what will be the displayed documents?
You can display any kind of documents such as PDF, URLs, screenshots, software demonstration, etc... Momindum Sutdio will let you decide if you wish to display or to attach as related documents these various options.
6.2. What kind of documents can I import in my project?
In addition to your video or your audio file, you can import your PowerPoint slides, PDF documents, flash animations, flashpaper documents, web pages...
6.3. I am not able to see my imported flash file or PDF file, what should I do?
You may not have the needed plug-ins installed. You can download them here http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html for PDF and http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer for flash.
6.4. If I send my project to someone so that he can work on it, should I send all concerned documents?
You do not have to send all the documents and files of the project. You just have to send the video along with the file corresponding ".mom" file.
7.1. What's the difference between Advanced publication and Standard Publication?
Standard Publishing is free. It includes basic functions such as video synchronization with documents and access to the presentation outline. Advanced publication includes additional features such as interface customization, direct access via tags or access to complementary documents. Advanced publication also provides for SCORM compliance. Advanced publication requires the purchasing of time credit.
7.2. Is it possible to publish without purchasing any time credit?
You can process standard publications free of charge. Also, Momindum Studio comes out of the box with a 20 minutes time credit.
7.3. Do I need an internet connection to publish presentations?
No, you can prepare, publish and verify your presentations whenever you want and make them available online later on.
7.4. I published my presentation and I forgot several documents. Do I need to pay again to publish my updated presentation?
No, you do not need any additional time credit. The same presentation can be published as many times as you want as long as it uses the same video or audio file.
7.5. If I published my presentation on a CD-Rom, do I need to pay again in order to publish it over the internet?
No, you do not need any additional time credit. A presentation can be published using all publishing options (Internet, CD-Rom, SCORM, etc...) without paying again.
7.6. Once published, can someone use Momindum Studio to modify my presentation?
Anyone can work and update your presentation as long as you process the publication on the original computer where the first publication happened. Otherwise, time credit will be charged on that other computer.
7.7. Can I have access to customized graphic patterns?

7.8. Can I extract a video or any other document from a presentation realized with Momindum Studio?
The author is able to give to somebody else the right to do it. In that case, you can pick up the video or audio files, the related documents as well as the displayed documents.
8.1. How can I host my video without streaming server?
You can simulate a streaming server to host your video with a PHP based web server. Thus you can watch parts of your video without having to entirely download it.
8.2. Why should we use a streaming server instead of the solution referred previously?
A streaming server is optimized to solve the load testing issue. A web server with PHP pages can easily be overloaded if there are too many simultaneous connections. The streaming server allows for a more important number of simultaneous connections. As a consequence the video is optimized for different flux variations.
8.3. I have never used a streaming server, how does it work?

8.4. How can I find a streaming server to host my video?

8.5. How do I know if I have a streaming server or not?
Contact your IT department to know if you have such capabilities, either in house or outsourced to a streaming provider.
9.1. What does SCORM refer to? Why should I use SCORM?

You just have to check the corresponding box during the publication.

The infrastructure to create questionnaires is not available yet.
