1. Download the software

1.1. Is Momindum Studio free?

Momindum Studio is free. You can use the software for free, and publish your presentation using the Standard publication or Advanced publication.

1.2. Do I need to pay for a license to use Momindum Studio?

There's no license fee for using Momindum Studio. Software is free. You can publish a Standard presentation for free; you only pay if you want to publish an Advanced presentation.

1.3. Is it necessary to create an account to download Momindum Studio?

No, you can download and use it for free without creating an account.

1.4. Is Momindum Studio available for servers/multiple workstations?

Momindum Studio is free. There's no need to buy a license for each workstation. You can use Momindum Studio for creating presentations on as many workstations as you want, and publish on a specific workstation from which you bought credit.

1.5. What is the required configurations in order to use the software?

The system requirements for Momindum Studio Standard Edition is:
- 256 Mo of RAM (512 Mo of RAM recommended).
- Processor Pentium III or equivalent (Processor superior to Pentium IV or equivalent recommended).
- Minimal resolution of 1024 * 768 pixels.
- Minimum operating system Windows XP SP1.
- Windows Media Players ( already configured at least one time)

1.6. Where can I find my software serial number?

In the software, click on the "help" menu, then on "serial number":

2. Packages

2.1. What are your packages?

In our packages, we sell time-credit that you can use to produce advanced presentations. This credit is the maximum length of video you can produce. Ie: if you use a 10h plan, you can use these 10 hours to produce as many presentations as you want. The maximum total length of presentations must be 10 hours.

2.2. What's the difference between Standard publishing and Advanced publishing?

Standard publishing is free. It includes basic functions: synchronization of video and documents and navigation by the outline. Advanced publishing includes a customizable interface, and access to advanced functions such as keywords and annex documents. Advanced publishing is charged according to our pricing policy.

2.3. If my video is 1 hour long, how much do I need to pay to publish in Advanced publishing?

Our smallest formula is 2h pack. If your presentation is shorter, you should buy the 2h pack, and you can use the remaining credit to publish another presentation.

2.4. Are packages long term contracts?

packages are not long term contracts. Our packages are not subscriptions. Our packages are single products.

2.5. Can I combine several packages?

Yes, you can. If you buy a 2h plan and then a 5h plan, you have 7h of credit.

2.6. What's the difference between the 2h plan and the 100h plan?

The difference is only the number of hours of credit.

3. Time Credit

3.1. What is Time Credit?

Time credit is the maximum length of video you can produce advanced presentations. It is what you buy when you take a formula and use to publish your presentations with advanced components.

3.2. How do I buy or reload my time credit?

First of all, you have to create an account on our website in order to buy some time credit, so that we have all the necessary elements to edit an invoice. Then you have to choose a plan and your payment mode: by transfer payment or by Paypal. You will obtain an activation code, only valid only on the computer where you have picked up the Momindum Studio serial number.

3.3. Is there any time limit for using my credit?

No, your time credit is valid as long as you have some left.

3.4. Can I use my credit on any computer?

You can use your credit on one computer only.

3.5. Can several people use the same credit?

You use the credit on the same computer, but several people can use it on the same computer.

3.6. What happens if my video exceeds my current time credit?

You cannot publish in the advanced mode and you should purchase the supplementary time credit.

3.7. What should I do if I change my computer? Have I lost all my time credit?

Indeed, your time credit will be lost, because it is associated to only one computer.

3.8. If I have some time credit left on my computer which appears to be unusable, can I temporarily publish with another computer?

Time credit is associated to only one computer, so it is not possible.

4. Payment

4.1. What payment options di I have?

Payment can be done by credit card or by money wire.

4.2. How long does it take to receive my credit code?

It depends on your payment option.
- If you pay by credit card, you will instantly receive your credit code by email after the payment. It's the fastest way to receive your credit code.
- If you pay by money wire, you will receive your credit code by email as soon as the payment is validated by our finance services. It can take several days, due to the delay of execution of money wires.

4.3. Can I buy time credit offline?

Time Credit for Momindum Studio is only available on www.momindum.com.

5. Audio or video Format

5.1. I cannot import my video... Why?

It is possible that you do not have the right codec or your video use an unknown format. Check carefully the format of your video if it is in wmv or in avi.

5.2. What media format should I use?

We advice you to use the wmv format for videos and wma for audio files.

5.3. If my video or my audio file is not in right format, what should I do?

You can use a media converter. You cqn use this one. It is entirely free: http://media-convert.com/convertir/

5.4. I imported a video file with another format. But during the publication my video does not work. Should I redo everything since the beginning?

No, you just have to convert your video and import it during the publication. This is why do not need to redo everything on the timeline.

5.5. If I have published a video with another format by using an advanced publication, should I repay to publish it to the right format?

A publication concerns only one video. Therefore, if you change of video file, you have to do a new publication. However, if you use a converter, your video will be unchanged, you will not have to repay.

6. Documents

6.1. If I do not any PowerPoint file, can I still do a presentation? So what will be the displayed documents?

When you work on a PowerPoint file or another document like pdf. You can choose "synchronize as a display document" or "synchronize as an annex document"

6.2. What kind of documents can I import in my project?

In addition to your video or your audio file, you can import your PowerPoint slides, PDF documents, flash animations, flashpaper documents and web pages.

6.3. I am not able to see my imported flash file or PDF file, what should I do?

Is is possible that you do not have to needed plug-in. You can download the required plug-in here http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html for PDF and http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer for flash.

6.4. If I send my project to someone so that he can work on it, should I send all concerned documents?

You do not have to send all the documents and files of the project. You just have to send the video along with the file myproject.mom

7. Publication

7.1. What's the difference between Advanced publishing and Standard Publishing?

Standard Publishing is free. It includes basic functions such as videosynchronization with documents and access to the presentation outline. Advanced Publishing include additional functions such as interface customization, access by keywords or access to complementary documents. There's also a SCORM compliant publishing feature. The cost of the Advanced Publishing is charged depending on the related plan.

7.2. Is it possible to publish without purchasing any Time credit?

You can publish without purchasing time credit by using the free standard publication.

7.3. Do I need an internet connection to publish presentations?

No, you can publish presentations without internet, so you can work on your presentation wherever you are (plane, train, car, motel, etc...).

7.4. I published my presentation and I forgot several documents. Do I need to pay again to publish my updated presentation?

No, tou do not need to pay again. A presentation can be published as many times as you want as long as it uses the same video or audio file.

7.5. If I published my presentation on a CD-Rom, do I need to pay again in order to publish it over the internet?

No, there's no need to pay again. A presentation can be published using all publishing options (Internet, CD-Rom, SCORM, etc...) without paying again.

7.6. Once published, Can someone use Momindum Studio to modify my presentation?

It is mandatory that this person use the same computer used during the publication to modify the presentation.

7.7. Can I have access to cutsomized graphic patterns?

Contact us in order to know more about the custom-built development of your project.

7.8. Do I Have the right to extract a video or any other document from a presentation realized with Momindum Studio?

The author is able to give someone the right to do it. In that case, you can pick up the video or audio files, the annex documents as well as the displayed document. Any other things are the property of Momindum and are not retrievable in any case.

8. Server & Streaming

8.1. How can I host my video without streaming server?

Thanks to a web server with PHP page, you can simulate a streaming server to host your video. Thus you can watch parts of your video without having to entirely download it.

8.2. Why should we use a streaming server instead of the solution referred previously?

A streaming server is optimized to solve the load testing problem. A web server with PHP page can easily be overloaded if there are too much simultaneous connections. The streaming server allows a more important number of simultaneous connections. As a consequence the video is optimized for different flux variations.

8.3. I have never used a streaming server, how does it work?

8.4. How can I find a streaming server to host my video?

We can provide streaming servers adapted to your needs in order to host your video. For more information about this service, contact us.

8.5. How do I know if I have a streaming server or not?

Generally you have signed a hosting contract with a provider. Contact it again if you are not sure about the functionalities of your server.

8.6. Does it work on YouTube, Google, Dailymotion, or else?

These functionalities will be soon available. But for the moment, it is not possible to post your video on these web sites.

9. E-learning

9.1. What does SCORM refer to? Why should I use SCORM?

9.2. What should I do to make my training compatible to SCORM?

You just have to select the corresponding box during the publication.

9.3. Can I insert a questionnaire in my presentation?

The infrastructure to create questionnaires is not available yet.

9.4. What is the "deep tagging"?

The deep tagging is a process which isolates video instants in order to share it. The learner do not need to need to watch all of the presentation to reach that moment. Momindum Studio allows to create Rich Media presentations using the deep tagging technology.
